What is workforce readiness?

Workforce readiness can be defined as the “Human Resources Strategy” to economic development.  Workforce readiness focuses on both identifying the barriers that keep the local labor force from achieving their full potential while taking into consideration the overall needs of the state’s current job offerings.

As the premier organization for professionals dedicated to all facets of human resources management, and who represent the wide variety of industries in Idaho’s economy, the Idaho State Council is committed to being an integral part of the strategic solutions that move the state’s economy forward.

As part of this commitment, our Workforce Readiness resources page is designed to provide you, our SHRM members and the community, the resources that connect people to jobs and companies to talent.  We invite you to click and explore the rich list of resources we have compiled for your benefit.

GETTING TALENT BACK TO WORK – JUSTICE-INVOLVED INDIVIDUALS

Nearly 700,000 people are released from prison each year and are locked out of the job market. Those who have served their time should not be “re-sentenced” by employers, especially when businesses are experiencing a human capital crisis. Join business leaders and pledge to consider all qualified candidates.
